The Poetic Significance of Iron

The atom which kills Supergiant stars.

The atom which forces supernovae explosions.

The metal which has enabled our species to mass produce tools, agricultural equipment, and weapons. The atom that has fed us, and killed us.

The atom which we as humans, as well as many other species, cannot live without. The atom runs through our veins. Each one of us circulates in our blood about 3-4g of the metal which destroyed some star(s) somewhere at some point in time. The atom which kills stars, and equips humans with blades to kill one another. One could say…the provider of life, and the ambassador of death.

Feel powerful, in that the atom which forces destruction upon massive stars is flowing through you, giving you life.
